Matthew Dellavedova's hometown renames stadium 'Dellavedova Dome'
After a series of stirring performances by Cleveland's Matthew Dellavedova, Dellymania seems to have reached a fever pitch: Delly skipped right over a shoe deal and went straight to getting a stadium named after him.
Yep. His hometown of Maryborough, Australia is renaming its basketball stadium the "Dellavedova Dome." Say that five times fast.
From 3AW.com:
Makes total since that Dellavedova would be a hometown hero. It's almost the perfect underdog story. Just looking at him, nothing tells you he should be any good at basketball and yet he's making huge waves in the NBA Finals. Why wouldn't he be the pride of Maryborough? Why shouldn't they name a stadium after him?
But while we're at it, we should just go straight to calling it the "Delly Dome." Or the "Dellavedoma." No, let's stick with "Delly Dome." Forget I ever said "Dellavedoma."
