And who was that great conservative? Calvin Coolidge. About 100 years ago. And just before The Great Depression.

 

Coolidge didn't create the legislation for tax cuts, Congress did that, yeah even 100 years ago, Congress had control over Legislation.

What did Congress do to stave off the Great Depression?..........NOTHING...just like Congress did nothing to alter the outcome of toxic subprime loans that the Bush Administration stessed to Congress over 17 times.

Barney Frank told Congress in a hearing that he didn't see a problem.

Coolidge claimed that he knew it was coming too.. Congress did nothing.

Try again kid.

 

Now another fundamental of the lie of conservatism as it is preached and practiced in this nation is to rely on what is basically ancient political history as a justification for conservatism and then simply just lie about more modern history which works with low information voters.

Such as the all powerful liberal/progressive/Democrat Bernie Frank told congress there was no problem toxic sub prime loans so the Great Recession must be all his fault and by extension the fault of the liberal/progressive/Democrats.

There is more to conservatism than this, but this pretty much sums up American conservatism.

Republican politicians pretend to share the social concerns of lower middle class and working class whites, but the only thing they really care about is making the rich richer. That is the only thing they do.

During the last election Christian conservatives overwhelmingly gave their support to a womanizing pagan who probably can count on the fingers of two hands the times he has attended church services since compulsory chapel at the military school he attended.

In 1980 Christian conservatives abandoned a sincere Christian in order to vote for another Republican who rarely attended church.

Secular liberals who fear that the GOP wants to set up a theocracy have nothing to worry about. Those secular liberals should worry about Republican economic and environmental policies.
